Technical Questions

Q: Is my vehicle ready for pick-up?
Answer: The delivery time of your vehicle depends on the work we have carried out. If we replace the front or rear windshield, the time required is approximately 1 hour. In case of replacing a side window, the time varies depending on the degree of difficulty of the vehicle, e.g. a car with a convertible top. An average is from half an hour to 1 hour. The windshield repair is completed in approximately half an hour.

However, for your safety, if we have replaced your windshield, the vehicle should not be moved from the store within 1 hour after the work is completed. In other cases, you can pick up your vehicle immediately since no special treatment is required.

Q: I have made an appointment for the free mobile unit to come to my location. How will I know when it will arrive?
Answer: The appointment you will make for the mobile service has a time frame of two hours, e.g. 10:00-12:00, and this is because there are factors that can affect the accuracy of the appointment, such as traffic. For this reason, the technician who will serve you will call you at the time he will start to come to your location.

Q: I have made an appointment at the Carglass® store that serves me. When can I take my vehicle there?
Answer: We always recommend that for your best service, you come to the store ten minutes earlier than the scheduled appointment so that we can complete all procedures before the start of work. In case of delay in your appointment, we would like to kindly inform our call center so that they can schedule the remaining work of the store in a timely manner.

Q.: If I report the damage to my glass to my insurance company, will the bonus malus be affected?
Answer: Crystal breakage does not affect the bonus malus.

Q: What is covered by your warranty?
Answer: The guarantee we give concerns both the authenticity of our crystals and the quality of our work. So when you receive your vehicle, you receive a certificate of authenticity of the crystals where the manufacturer of the crystal is shown, as well as a lifetime labor guarantee for our work. In other words, if any problem occurs, you are not burdened with any labor costs.

Q: What is the quality of the crystals you use?
Answer: All the crystals we use come from the largest crystal manufacturers in the world and are produced according to the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specifications used by the car manufacturers themselves. The only difference is the logo because only the car manufacturers/dealers have the right to use it. At the end of each crystal replacement you will receive the Certificate of Authenticity where the manufacturer is listed.

Q: What documents do I need to have with me when I bring my car to work?
Answer: The documents you need to have with you are the vehicle owner's ID, the insurance policy, and the driver's license.

Q: Do I have to pay for the work to be performed on my vehicle? If so, how can I pay?
Answer: As long as your insurance policy covers glass breakage, glass repair or replacement is completely free. In case you do not have coverage for glass breakage, the payment methods are as follows: Cash, by deposit into a bank account or by credit card and in interest-free installments depending on the card you have.

Q: Is the torsional rigidity of the body affected?
Answer: No, it is not affected. After the repair, the vehicle returns 100% to its original condition.

Q: Can the side and rear windows be repaired?
Answer: Only laminated glass (double glass with PVB film in the middle – Laminated) can be repaired. The sides, like the back, are single panes of glass which, when broken, shatter and therefore cannot be repaired.

Q: What is the 43R marking on the crystal?
Answer: It is the European Community Directive RULLE 43 that sets the safety standards for vehicle windows.

Q: Can I wash my car immediately after replacing the windshield?
Answer: It is preferable to wait 48 hours after installing the windshield before taking the car to the car wash.
